Where it is

At the inner end of the knee crease, just above the tendon you can feel when the knee is bent, in a hollow.

Nearby: Inner knee. Similar neighborhood to KI10 but slightly different tendon relationship. Don’t press a swollen joint.

Traditionally said to

He-sea and water point of the Liver. Taught for damp-heat in the lower burner and for inner-knee pain, in textbook language.

What people look up

Acupressure

Knee bent, press the hollow for 30–45 seconds.

When not to press: Skip an injured or hot knee.

About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.

Licensed practice only

Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture

Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.

Depth

Common textbook range: about 1–1.5 cun perpendicular.

Angle

Perpendicular, at the medial end of the popliteal crease.

Electroacupuncture

Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
