Where it is

On the inner foot, in the hollow just in front of the base of the first metatarsal, distal to SP3 along the same border.

Nearby: The arch. The tendon of the big toe is nearby. Press the hollow, not the tendon.

Traditionally said to

Luo point of the Spleen and opening point of the Chong vessel. Taught for stomach and spleen patterns, and studied as a pair with PC6.

What people look up

Acupressure

Seated, press the inner arch hollow for 30–60 seconds.

When not to press: Some teachers are quieter with Chong points in pregnancy. If pregnant, skip strong pressure and ask a licensed practitioner.

About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.

Licensed practice only

Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture

Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.

Depth

Common textbook range: about 0.5–0.8 cun perpendicular.

Angle

Perpendicular, in the hollow distal to the base of the first metatarsal.

Electroacupuncture

Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
