Where it is

On the inner leg, in the hollow just below the knee, below the medial condyle of the tibia, in the groove beside the bone.

Nearby: Inner knee. Don’t press into the joint line if it is already swollen.

Traditionally said to

He-sea and water point of the Spleen. The standard point in teaching for draining damp: heaviness, loose stool, and water retention as pattern names.

What people look up

Acupressure

Sit, knee bent, press the hollow for 45–60 seconds.

When not to press: A hot, injured, or unstable knee is not a press-here problem.

About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.

Licensed practice only

Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture

Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.

Depth

Common textbook range: about 1–1.5 cun perpendicular.

Angle

Perpendicular, in the groove below the condyle.

Electroacupuncture

Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
