Where it is
At the inner end of the elbow crease, when the elbow is bent, just in front of the inner bony knob.
Nearby: The ulnar nerve (“funny bone”) runs behind the inner elbow. Stay in the crease, not behind the bone.
Traditionally said to
He-sea and water point of the Heart. Taught for heart-channel pain, calm, and local elbow tension. Shen language here is traditional, not a psychiatric claim.
What people look up
Acupressure
Elbow softly bent, press the inner crease for 30–45 seconds. Stop at any electric zing into the little finger.
When not to press: Do not chase a tingling nerve. That is the ulnar nerve, not the point.
About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.
Licensed practice only
Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture
Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.
Depth
Common textbook range: about 0.5–1 cun perpendicular.
Angle
Perpendicular, in the crease, anterior to the medial epicondyle.
Electroacupuncture
Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
