Where it is

On the wrist crease, little-finger side, in the hollow next to the tendon that leads to the little finger.

Nearby: The ulnar artery and nerve are neighbors. Find the hollow beside the tendon and stay soft.

Traditionally said to

Yuan-source and shu-stream point of the Heart. The point most students learn for calming shen — restlessness, worry, and trouble settling at night. Textbooks sometimes add poor memory when the spirit is unsettled. It is a traditional category, not a sedative and not a treatment for memory loss.

What people look up

Acupressure

Rest the wrist and press the hollow gently for 45–90 seconds. Breathe slowly.

When not to press: Stop at tingling into the little finger. Do not press if the wrist crease is inflamed.

About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.

Licensed practice only

Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture

Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.

Depth

Common textbook range: about 0.3–0.5 cun perpendicular.

Angle

Perpendicular, in the hollow, avoiding the tendon and the ulnar artery.

Electroacupuncture

Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
