Where it is

On the back of the elbow, in the groove between the olecranon and the inner bony knob, the “funny bone” groove.

Nearby: The ulnar nerve lives in this groove. Pressure that zings is too much.

Traditionally said to

He-sea and earth point of Small Intestine. Mostly a local elbow point in modern teaching, with older notes about shen and the channel.

What people look up

Acupressure

The lightest touch that still feels like contact, 20–30 seconds. Stop at the first electric feeling.

When not to press: If leaning on the elbow already zings, leave this point alone.

About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.

Licensed practice only

Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture

Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.

Depth

Common textbook range: about 0.3–0.5 cun. The ulnar nerve is the reason this stays shallow.

Angle

Perpendicular, shallow, in the groove — a licensed, careful point.

Electroacupuncture

Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
