Where it is

On the upper abdomen, about two thumb-widths lateral to the midline and about four thumb-widths above the navel — level with Ren12 in many charts.

Nearby: Upper abdominal organs. Comfortable pressure only. Sharp pain is a stop sign.

Traditionally said to

A local stomach-channel point for fullness, poor appetite, and upper abdominal ache in traditional language.

What people look up

Acupressure

Warm palm or two fingers, gentle, 30–60 seconds, after meals only if it feels relieving rather than sharp.

When not to press: Skip pregnancy self-care on the abdomen, and skip any hard, painful, or newly swollen belly.

About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.

Licensed practice only

Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture

Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.

Depth

Common textbook range: about 0.8–1.2 cun perpendicular. Too deep enters the peritoneal cavity. Not a figure to copy casually.

Angle

Perpendicular, on a relaxed abdomen.

Electroacupuncture

Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
