Where it is
Halfway between the knee crease and the outer ankle bone, two finger-widths lateral to the shin bone, in the muscle.
Nearby: The fibula is lateral. Stay in muscle, not on the bone.
Traditionally said to
Luo point of the Stomach. The point students memorize for phlegm — heaviness, chest mucus, and a foggy feeling in traditional language. It does not clear lungs in a medical sense.
What people look up
Acupressure
Press the outer shin muscle for 45–60 seconds.
When not to press: Cough with chest pain or shortness of breath needs care, not a leg point.
About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.
Licensed practice only
Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture
Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.
Depth
Common textbook range: about 1–1.5 cun perpendicular.
Angle
Perpendicular, into the muscle.
Electroacupuncture
Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
