Where it is

On the midline of the forehead, about half a thumb-width inside the hairline. If the hairline is receded, use the original hairline people remember, or about five thumb-widths above the brows on the midline as a rough classroom measure.

Nearby: Frontal bone. Shallow scalp.

Traditionally said to

A calm-shen point on the Du vessel, taught for a busy mind, frontal headache, and nasal symptoms in older texts. Some manuals add poor focus and forgetfulness. Not a brain treatment.

What people look up

Acupressure

Fingertips on the midline, light, 30–45 seconds.

When not to press: Same red flags as any sudden severe headache.

About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.

Licensed practice only

Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture

Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.

Depth

Transverse subcutaneously, often 0.3–0.5 cun. Not into bone.

Angle

Transverse, posteriorly along the midline.

Electroacupuncture

Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
