Where it is

Four extra points, one thumb-width anterior, posterior, and lateral to Du20 on the crown. Treat them as a group. Often EX-HN1.

Nearby: Scalp over the skull, around the crown. Same infant-fontanelle caution as Du20.

Traditionally said to

A group of extra points taught for calm, poor memory in traditional language, and headache on the crown. “Alert spirit” is the name, not a promise of sharper thinking, and not care for dementia.

What people look up

Acupressure

Four fingertips around the crown, barely touching, 30–60 seconds.

When not to press: Do not press an infant’s fontanelle. Skip after head injury.

About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.

Licensed practice only

Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture

Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.

Depth

Transverse toward Du20, often 0.5–1 cun subcutaneously at each of the four sites. Not into the skull.

Angle

Transverse, toward the crown point.

Electroacupuncture

Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
