Where it is

On the outer upper arm, in the depression on the front border of the deltoid, roughly where a sleeve seam ends.

Nearby: Deltoid muscle. The chest and lung are medial if someone aims a needle toward the body.

Traditionally said to

Local point for shoulder and upper-arm pain. Some classics also mention eye brightness; treat that as historical language, not an eye cure.

What people look up

Acupressure

Press the deltoid hollow for 45–60 seconds. Do not drive the thumb toward the ribs.

When not to press: Skip if raising the arm causes a sharp joint catch.

About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.

Licensed practice only

Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture

Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.

Depth

Often listed around 0.8–1.5 cun, oblique into the deltoid. Confirm before any clinical use. Do not aim medially toward the chest.

Angle

Oblique, along the arm, into muscle.

Electroacupuncture

Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
