Where it is

Just above the wrist, on the thumb side. Cross the webs of your index fingers and thumbs; the index finger of the other hand often lands near it, in a small notch beside the radius.

Nearby: The radial artery and the cephalic vein are close. Stay in the notch beside the bone, not on the pulse.

Traditionally said to

Luo point and a command point for the head and nape. Opening point of the Ren vessel. Traditionally said to release the exterior and spread lung qi.

What people look up

Acupressure

Press the notch toward the elbow, lightly, for 30–60 seconds. Do not occlude the pulse.

When not to press: Some traditions use extra care in pregnancy. Stop if the thumb tingles. Do not press a bounding pulse.

About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.

Licensed practice only

Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture

Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.

Depth

Often taught by pinching the skin and needling transversely toward the elbow, about 0.3–0.5 cun. Depth charts vary; confirm in a current manual.

Angle

Transverse, proximal, almost under the skin — not deep toward the artery.

Electroacupuncture

Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
