Where it is
In the elbow crease, on the thumb side of the biceps tendon. Bend the elbow slightly to find the hollow.
Nearby: The biceps tendon is the landmark. Stay in the hollow, not on a hard tendon.
Traditionally said to
He-sea and water point of the Lung. Classically used to clear lung heat and ease cough or elbow tightness. Teaching use, not a treatment claim.
What people look up
Acupressure
Support the forearm and press into the crease toward the upper arm for 30–60 seconds.
When not to press: Stop if the forearm tingles or you are pressing the tendon itself.
About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.
Licensed practice only
Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture
Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.
Depth
Common textbook range: about 0.5–1 cun perpendicular.
Angle
Perpendicular, in the hollow of the crease.
Electroacupuncture
Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
