Where it is
On the inner forearm, thumb side, about halfway between the wrist crease and the elbow crease, along the Lung line.
Nearby: Muscle of the forearm. No special vessel if you stay on the line taught between LU5 and LU9.
Traditionally said to
Xi-cleft point of the Lung. Traditionally for acute chest or lung patterns and local forearm pain. Cleft points are a category, not an emergency method.
What people look up
Acupressure
Press the forearm muscle along the line from wrist to elbow for 30–60 seconds.
When not to press: Skip if the skin is bruised or the arm is acutely injured.
About 30–90 seconds is the usual window, unless the step above is shorter. Stop if pain, dizziness, or anything unusual shows up.
Licensed practice only
Needle depth, angle, electroacupuncture
Textbook language for students. Not instructions. A cun is a body-inch on that person, not a ruler inch. Do not needle yourself.
Depth
Common textbook range: about 0.5–1 cun perpendicular.
Angle
Perpendicular.
Electroacupuncture
Introductory charts rarely assign a standard electroacupuncture setting here. Clinics that use current choose frequency and intensity for that person. No milliamp figure is given, because copying one would be misleading.
